Learn more about bridget

As a consultant, fundraiser, and lawyer serving the non-profit sector since 1998, I have developed a toolkit that draws upon my education and experience to deliver results. I'm an advocate for utilizing contract support for non-profits of all sizes because it's efficient and laser-focused, and most importantly, it helps your organization engage more people and raise more money -- and ultimately, expand your mission delivery.

Farm Roots
It was my time on our dairy farm in northwest Montana that drew me to my previous post as the Executive Director of the Southeastern Massachusetts Agricultural Partnership (SEMAP). At SEMAP, I am proud that we quadrupled our individual giving and increased the email list by more than five times. Grant funding was maintained at an 85% award rate (while the typical rate of award is 20%), and I was able to increase visibility in the press, averaging 45 clippings a year, while serving as a spokesperson for the local food movement in the community and to legislators on Beacon Hill.  I created and oversaw the VINE e-Newsletter, and tapped into a deep vein of entrepreneurial spirit, creating income-generating educational programs.

Prior to SEMAP, I served as the Director of Development for the Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board (WIB).  I secured federal, state and foundation grants totaling $1.4 million.  I re-instituted and oversaw the e-Newsletter.  As part of the executive team, I held a leadership role in strategic planning, board development, and setting workforce development policy in alignment with the region's economic development vision--working with state and local officials.

In July of 2013, I chose to steer my career down a more independent path, one that provided me with the flexibility I needed to raise my two children, yet continue working with sustainably-minded and family-centric organizations.  Since the launch of this business in January of 2014, I have enjoyed working with organizations, groups and businesses that strive to make the world a better place.

New England-based
For the last 16 years (and happily counting) I have been living and working in New England. I was able to establish a toehold in Rhode Island when I attended Roger Williams Law School. I never saw myself in a big law firm. I planned on returning to the D.C. area and the non-profit sector, working in some legislative advocacy capacity. While I did get a wonderful taste of this when interning with the Rhode Island Attorney General's Director of Policy, I did not stay on this course after I obtained my Juris Doctorate and became an "Esq.," after passing the Massachusetts Bar exam. Instead, I moved to Massachusetts, and practiced for a short stint in civil litigation.

Having proved to myself and others that I really didn't want to utilize being a lawyer in this way, I made my way back to the non-profit sector as the director of development for the Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board. From there, I served as ED of SEMAP for the next four years. SEMAP was a real dream job for me. However, this profound time of professional growth and accomplishment coincided with the births of my two amazing children. After leaning in since high school, I hit a point of reevaluation in my life, and the conclusion was, the balance was gone.

To address the need to regain a life-balance that reflected my priorities -- children/family life, health, and living sustainably -- I launched myself as a consultant, fundraiser and speaker specializing in non-profits whose goals match my life's priorities. Less than a year ago, my family and I took a profound step in living true to our priorities and we continued the northern ascent from southeastern Massachusetts to Midcoast Maine. This move was also a personal realization for me, as my dream since middle school was to be a lawyer living in a small town in Maine.

A Creative at Heart
I am obsessed with tiny houses, a proud Karaoke performer (and most recently a member of the Spit Spot Singers and Damariscotta Community Theater), and fan of classic murder mysteries. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies from VA Tech, where I focused on journalism and public relations--with dual minors in creative writing and women's studies.

I look forward to working with you and helping you take your organization to the next level!
